Title: Design Engineer – 

Summary of Position

Provide design and engineering drawings and shop services as required to support our manufacturing processes to deliver metal plates, panels, enclosures, mounting solutions & miscellaneous metal specialty items for use in Broadcast, Audio, Video and IT applications. Job Duties & Activities include preparation of documents and shop drawings for projects using AutoCAD, MS word, excel, Adobe Suite, and other common PC based programs and assemblies. This position works from brief oral or written instructions, pictures, conceptual drawings and rough sketches. Sheet metal work requires knowledge of the physical properties and working characteristics of sheet metal, knowledge of tools and equipment required in the sheet metal trade, and knowledge of shop mathematics and principles. Must also assist in the repair, fabrication, modification, and installation of sheet metal parts, items,

Experience with sheet metal & precision sheet metal work including aluminum, steel and stainless steel fabrication. Knowledge of fasteners, hardware, welding and other metal processes. Experience with shop machinery including CNC Milling and Routing, Laser Cutting and Marking, Bending, Graining and use of common hand tools a major plus. Responsible for Engineering document plotting, document transmittal & distribution, revision  & re-submittal of documents when required. Track progress & project document control. Provide general support to shop and estimating for project activities. Work directly with estimators to assist in preparing shop manufacturing drawings & documentation. Support shop requests for project related information and procedures. Assist shop and estimating personnel with project questions and directions. Prepare material take-offs and estimates to assist estimator in preparation of project quotes.

• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments; performing other duties as assigned including but not limited to better utilization of long cycle times to complete additional value added work.

Experience Requirement

5+years of sheet metal experience preferred. Mechanical Engineering degree preferred. Salary To Be Considered Per Experience/Qualifications. Job type: Full-time
